Nuestro Proyecto
A semester long course, combining ethnography theory and practice, as well as individual research, this course will explore the culture Miami, Florida with a significant latino population. Students will review the theory of participant observation, will prepare research questions, and research appropriate locations in which to conduct field observations and interviews during a 3 week stay in Florida over winter break. After this fieldwork, students will research relevant topics related to their observations, potentially to include population demographics, immigration history and more. A multimedia project, to be presented at REDay, will summarize all observations and research.
